Next I drill and install the heads in a nice straight line. I attach the neck to the body, carefully drill and install the bridge in place, making sure that all the screws are only finger tight. Then I tape my wired pick guard in place to get ready for a mock up. Before this stage, I also installed the string ferrels in the back of the body, which can also be a tricky job. The holes have to be carefully predrilled without tearing finish to fit them so they’re not to tight.
